KASPY kept its MEXC listing. Now comes the KCC-20 plan
A three-legged cat helped give Kaspa one of its earliest token communities. After a tense exchange review, KASPY says the trading pair will stay. Its next challenge is more consequential: giving holders a clear, verifiable route from KRC-20 to KCC-20.

There is a reason KASPY's community talks about survival. Its project site tells the story of a rescued three-legged cat whose owner says he sold his KAS to cover the vet bills. The token grew out of that story during Kaspa's first KRC-20 wave. The site describes a fair launch with no presale or pre-allocation, and lists a supply of 333,333,333,333 KASPY. Those are project claims, not an independent audit of distribution.
KASPY also reached a centralized exchange early. MEXC still displays a KASPY/USDT market. That matters because many first-wave Kaspa tokens had to rely on specialist marketplaces and thinner routes to liquidity. A market listing is an access point, though it does not guarantee depth, regional availability or future support for a new token standard.
The listing survived a real test
In September, KASPY said MEXC planned to delist the pair after an assessment the team disputed. On October 9, the team said MEXC had halted the delisting and offered a 14-day reassessment. Then, on October 23, KASPY announced that it had passed and would remain tradable on MEXC. The live market page is consistent with the team's account. That sequence is a substantive result for a project that has kept its identity and community through a difficult cycle.
It also changes the migration conversation. KASPY said in that October 23 update that it would discuss the KRC-20 to KCC-20 path with MEXC and provide more information later. That is a plan for discussions, not confirmation that MEXC has implemented KCC-20 custody, deposits, withdrawals or a conversion process. We found no public MEXC commitment to be the first exchange to support the standard.
What a careful migration has to answer
Kaspa's KCC-20 convention is marked Final. It defines a native covenant token model distinct from the older KRC-20 inscription and indexer model. A final convention does not automatically move existing KASPY balances. The project still needs to publish the holder process, eligibility snapshot or proof method, conversion terms, timing, and the treatment of tokens held on exchanges. Those are questions, not announced KASPY mechanics.
Keeping an exchange market while planning a new on-chain asset is hard work. The team needs to make sure the token that eventually arrives in a wallet and the token represented on an exchange match the same published ledger and conversion rules. MEXC would have to announce its own support for any new deposit or withdrawal network. Until both sides publish instructions, holders should not treat an unofficial swap link, new contract address or direct message as a migration route.
Where Tangem fits
KASPY already has a Tangem-branded hardware wallet page, and Tangem's token guide describes adding Kaspa KRC-20 assets. That is meaningful existing support. It is not evidence that Tangem already supports KCC-20, or that a KASPY-branded card will automatically display a migrated balance. The practical question is whether Tangem adds native KCC-20 handling in time for holders who use it. We found no published Tangem KCC-20 release date.
For KASPY, the opportunity is clear but not guaranteed. It has a recognizable mascot, an exchange pair that survived review, and a community with reason to care about the move. A transparent, low-friction migration could carry that history into Kaspa's next token era. The team's execution, exchange coordination and wallet support will determine how smooth that bridge actually is. None of those facts can establish where KASPY will rank or what its price will do.
The questions for the KASPY crew
What should the team publish first: a holder-by-holder migration guide, MEXC's handling of exchange balances, or verified wallet support? If you hold KASPY, what would make the transition clear enough to trust? Tell Kaspa News on X. We will update this report when KASPY, MEXC or Tangem publish specifics. Please never share seed phrases, private keys or account details in replies.
Kaspa News's publisher holds KASPY and other Kaspa ecosystem assets, and operates separate crypto projects. That is a financial interest in the subject of this article. This report is not a recommendation to buy or trade KASPY.
